Finbox alternative: filed numbers

Finbox sells editable models across 130+ exchanges from $120 a year, by region. This product reads three US exchanges and cites the filing behind each figure.

Finbox sells a modelling workbench with very wide coverage, bought region by region, and puts the same data into Excel and Google Sheets. ValueScreener sells a much smaller thing: US filings, read line by line, with a standing nightly check on the numbers you said your reasoning depends on. The overlap is the valuation model. Almost nothing else overlaps.

What both do

Both compute fundamentals from company accounts, both screen on them, and both put an editable valuation model in front of the reader rather than a number handed down. Their full pricing page, read 2026-09-18, publishes "View And Edit Financial Models Online", and their help centre article Working With Financial Models says on the same date: "If you prefer, you can also export the model to Google Spreadsheets or Excel. All spreadsheet formulas are left intact so you can inspect the calculations for key outputs like free cash flow, discount factors, and enterprise value." That is the same instinct as showing your working, and it is the strongest thing they publish.

The difference that decides it

Breadth, priced a la carte, against depth in one market.

Their pricing page publishes "Get access to all 130+ exchanges Finbox has to offer across North America, South America, Europe, United Kingdom, Middle East, and Asia. Data is available for companies that make up over 99% of the world's market capitalization". Regions are sold separately, and their configurator prices the add-ons at $14/mo for Canada and Mexico (4 exchanges), $14/mo for Asia and Pacifics (34), $14/mo for LATAM, Middle East and Africa (38) and $19/mo for UK and Ireland (6). Data Boost, their export entitlement, is published at $20/mo per region. The ten US exchanges they name include OTC Pink, OTC Bulletin Board and a grey-market tier.

On what the entry price buys, their two pricing pages disagree and both are given here rather than one being chosen. /pricing describes Starter as "Limited Region - U.S. Only", Executive as "Partial Regions - U.S. & Europe" and Professional as covering all six global regions. On /pricing/full the Starter card reads "U.S. Region Included, Additional Regions Can Be Added To Plan" while the region list below it marks both United States and Europe as Included. Open both before you buy a region.

This product covers NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX and nothing else. No OTC, no Europe, no Asia, one price, no add-ons.

What it has instead is the trail and the watch. Ten years of statements come from EDGAR, each figure opens into the formula, the inputs, the source statement, the fiscal year and the filing date, and a figure that cannot be read is marked not available rather than filled in with a zero. Then the thesis: your reasons in your own words, numeric guardrails attached, recomputed every night against newly filed data, one email on the day one breaks.

On their own pricing pages as of 2026-09-18 we could not find a per-figure trace from a displayed number to the statement and filing date, a written note or thesis field on a holding, or an alert that fires on a fundamental condition a user sets. Their help centre search for "alert" returned "All types (0)" on the same day. Those are absences of published evidence on the pages read, not statements that the features do not exist.

What each costs

Finbox, as publishedValueScreener
Starter"$10/month" billed yearly, "$120 billed yearly", "$19/month" monthly$228/year, or $29/month
Executive"$25/month" billed yearly, "$39/month" monthlySame one tier
Professional"$66/month" billed yearly, "$199/month" monthlySame one tier
Other billing"$45 billed quarterly", "$19 billed monthly" on StarterMonthly or yearly
Trial"START 10 DAY TRIAL FOR $0", payment set up at checkout14 days, card required, first charge on day 15
Refund"Finbox services are provided on a non-refundable basis"30 days from your first payment

Their figures are quoted from their own pricing page, their full pricing configurator and their help centre as read on 2026-09-18, with the Yearly toggle active, which is the page default. On /pricing/full, Starter and Professional are both labelled "Starting at", because regions are priced separately.

Where Finbox is better

The editable model with the calculation left open is the closest thing on this list to a working analyst's spreadsheet, and they ship it across 130 or more exchanges. This product has one two-stage DCF, on US companies only.

Buying coverage region by region is an honest pricing idea. Somebody who only wants the United States pays for the United States, and the entry price is $120 a year against $228 here.

Their US coverage reaches into OTC Pink, OTC Bulletin Board and grey-market tiers. A universe restricted by design to NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX does not touch those, and a lot of genuinely obscure deep-value work happens there.

The Excel and Google Sheets integration puts vendor data directly into a spreadsheet, which is where much serious valuation work actually happens. There is no spreadsheet add-in here.

They publish a quarterly billing option, which nobody else on this list does, and a 10-day trial that costs nothing up front.

Who should pick which

If you model companies in a spreadsheet, or you invest outside the United States, or you want OTC names, theirs covers ground this product has decided not to cover.

If you want the filing behind each figure and a nightly re-test of your own thresholds with one email when one breaks, that is the narrow job here. Both are research tools, neither recommends a security, and this page compares two pieces of software.

What this leaves out

Every claim about Finbox here was read on their own pricing page, their full pricing configurator and their help centre on 2026-09-18. Years of financial history and a company count are not published on either pricing page and are therefore not stated here. Region prices reflect the configurator state as read, and the two pages disagree about which regions the Starter price covers, which is recorded above rather than resolved. Where this page says a capability was not found, that is absence of published evidence on the pages read, not a statement that it does not exist.

  • Pricing carries our own prices, the trial terms and the refund in full.
  • Methodology gives every formula, weight and threshold, including the ones we refuse to compute.
  • Company catalogue reports the live coverage counts, which move nightly, rather than a number typed into a page.

Finbox is not affiliated with us and has not reviewed this page. Trade marks belong to their owners. This is a comparison of two research products, not advice about any security. Our own prices and terms are on the pricing page.
