Filed figures in your own model.

The problem

A figure pasted into a model goes stale, and nobody can say which filing it came from.

What you get

One formula returns a figure and, beside it, its source.

Example

Formulas and their answers today:

D7=VS.SOURCE($B$1,"debt_equity",2021,"accession")
Spreadsheet functions on Apple Inc., with their answers today

Each cell is a formula; hover or focus shows it. A figure we do not hold returns #N/A with the reason, never zero.
Live values; companies chosen by a written rule, read 15 October 2026. How they were chosen
  1. Active US common stocks on NYSE, NASDAQ or AMEX, largest market value first.
  2. One company per sector.
  3. Every figure shown reads a number: no n/a, no n/m.
  4. At least 10 fiscal years filed with the SEC.
  5. A 10-K, 10-Q or 8-K filed in the last 90 days.
  6. A guardrail the free thesis draft proposes that held in one filed year and broke in the next.

Prices are market data, with their date. The other figures are computed from the companies’ filed statements, and each year of a history names its filing.
